Listen to the above audio for the full message and be blessed! UNLOCK YOUR TRUE SELF Many people believe the opposite of their true self. Some of you may not understand your true self. What your family members say about is what you think is the bedrock of your identity. You cannot say you are provoked to do certain things that which you are not supposed to do. It is your choice. You have not discovered your true self yet. If you are walking with God and do not have points where you make amazing discoveries of yourself, then you are in for embarrassment. You have to know who you are. If you don’t know the tide of your situation, the wave of your situation will blow you to a corner and will shape you. Eva. Kennith E Haggins used to say don’t let the world give you haircut. It is a mental, emotional or spiritual haircut. You have to discover what makes you, you. You might say someone disrespected you. How can you say they disrespected you? There is a popular saying “respect is to earned and not demanded”. So, if someone disrespected you, why did they disrespect you? Every one of us have been an object of disrespect at one time. But what you do with it matters. There are certain disrespect for which you are not the cause.
Apostle Edmonds said when first time his representative took his books to a book store for sale, they asked the representative about the writer. When the representative told the name, they said they don’t this name. That was the first insult because they did not ask for the title but for the author. So, they were not ready to invest in his books because they thought the books will not move as the author is not a popular one. The bookstore person saw the picture of the pastor and pointed out to him as ‘negro’. It is a racial profiling. But pastor Edmonds knew they did not understand him, so he didn’t say anything. He was not interrogated by their short sightedness of who he was truly. Then the store person made the representative to sit down. And started to talk him and when he came to know about the representative on how he left the company IBM to serve the Lord and how pastor mentored him , the store person put the books on the shelf on account of the representative. There is no proof like Christ. After couple of weeks, the books started to sell and folks started to come to church through the books. Pastor Edmonds did not try to prove himself to anyone but this is how God changed the record. So unlock the life of God in you; that true-self of yours. Until you unlock it, no one will see it. It will be hidden inside. Colossians 3v16; “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” The first thing to unlock yourself is to unlock the word “LET” which means allow it. The key to the transformation in pastor’s life from the very first day after receiving Christ is the word “LET”. Allow the word of God and not your feelings. When anyone hits you, the Word comes out. Whatever they do to you, the response is the Word. Let the word of Christ rest in you richly. For some people, the word of God is in their memory, and so they don’t allow it to go into their spirit (heart). Someone may not know what you know and may know little, but they are truly transformed. Many people because of the shame or disrespect, they now get distracted. When you understand yourself, no one will make you feel better than yourself. Unlock your true self and that is in Christ because He created us in His image and likeness (character).
