UNION WITH CHRIST

John 17v22-24; “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”

In these above scriptures, there is a love relationship between a son and a father - the Son of God our Lord Jesus Christ and the creator. Jesus is saying the glory which Father has given to Him, He has given to us. That glory is oneness. The personality of Jesus Christ is beyond you can imagine but yet God gives us oneness with Him. That is an awesome opportunity. The life He gave us is royalty, is holy nation and is beautiful. 

It is a bitter and disappointing thing when people who are supposed to show the life and compassion of God showing something else. The Lord spoke about “do not be last”. The first shall be last and the last shall be first (Matthew 20v16). Look at your life and ensure that your fire is not burning low or cold. Don’t be last when you are called first because if fire is low, you become last. 

So, our union with Christ is amazing because He said He gave us the glory. He is one with the Father and He gave us that glory to be one with Him. And so, we share in His glory. We share His rights and privileges. We share His authority, His name, His life, and we even eat His flesh and drink His blood. The bread served during communion service is His flesh; the cup that you drink is His blood. We are united with Christ. Never let anybody make you inefficient because you are connected to the strongest one. Never let anyone feel that you are ordinary or a non-entity or something that is a burden. They may possess whatever they possess, but never allow what they possess interrogate you to the extent that the consciousness of your union is affected. Everything you do with the consciousness of union with Christ is powerful. Why?  The very life and the authority that runs the family of the creator of the universe is appropriated through you when you do with your consciousness of union with Christ.  
We are united with Him. The beautiful thing is we did not ask Him. It was His idea, His plan and perfect will all the way. He forgave our sins and cleansed us. So, we are righteous and spotless. We stand in the presence of God accepted in Him. We are invited to fellowship. Whatever you do with the consciousness of your union with God exhibits the power of the union. Your joint heir with Jesus Christ will share the glory of God.  

When people want to see Jesus, do not show them the Bible. You are in Him. People should see Jesus in you. If they are not seeing Jesus in you, then you are not in union with Christ. Your union with Christ affects your character, your mouth, your choices etc. Your union with Christ is constantly affected with the consciousness of that union. In Christ we are married to Him.  We must express our love to Him. People think this oneness carnally. They think when all the church become united and preach one message, that is oneness. That is not what the Bible is talking about “united”. Unity of faith is not a natural, physical unity. It is a spiritual unity.   

God wants to use your life to touch people in the world and every time you see to hear His word, He prepares you for that task. He gives instructions for that task. So, prepare your heart for the responsibilities given to you.
