Where does the anger, jealousy and all other evil behaviours come for a believer of Christ after experiencing salvation? A Christian does not practice evil, if they do they have not met Jesus yet. In this service, learn from Apostle Edmonds the the need and other important points to put on the new man which the Bible talks about. PUT ON THE NEW MAN When God saves, enlightens and transforms a man, it is not just a belief, it is an experience. If you have not experienced change in your salvation, your salvation is under scrutiny. There is change when you get saved. Salvation is not mere a belief though belief is a part of it but it is more of experiencing Jesus. Someone rightly said “If Jesus did not change you; I don’t think you met Jesus”. Your Father cannot give you experience. Your Father can show you the way and when you go in that way, you will get experience. You don’t substitute experiencing Christ. Christ is not a belief. He is a person. You must experience Christ. This is the core of this message. You need to experience what it is to be justified, obedient etc. Colossians 3v3 (NASB); “For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God”. This verse of scriptures says that your life is hid in Christ. Where do the anger and other worldly things come from? It comes from your mind. Every true Christian does not practice evil. If you do, you are not a Christian. Every true Christian will not practice disobeying God. If you do, you are not a Christian. However, Christians face situations where they find themselves disobeying God but they are not practicing disobeying the Father.
We have put off the old man and put on the new man. The new man is renewed according to the knowledge of the one who created him(Colossians 3v10). But some Christians have not put on the new man. When you come to the body of Christ, you think all are Christians; it is not so. Do not be disturbed, or troubled or deceived. A Christian is not the one who holds the Bible. But how much have they allowed the Bible to come into them determines if they are Christians or not. Some of you have not finished reading the Bible even one time. Today technology has made possible that you could be brushing and your smart phone will do smart business, playing the Bible for you. It is all about thirst. Ephesians 4v22,24 - In the reality of Salvation, Christ brought us from the bond of slavery like Moses brought children of Israel out of the land of slavery to the promised land. It is dangerous to come out and not going in because then you may not belong anywhere. So, when you come out of the old man, you have to put on the new man. The new man has holiness and righteousness as a feature. You don’t need to do anything for it. Has anyone spoken about your new life? If not, then your new man is not obvious. When you come to Christ Jesus, He finishes the work. There is less work for you. There is a work Christ finished and there is work you need to do. And most of your work is to just take and believe, not to try and do. There are important points that you should never forget. When you put on the new man, you are quick to repent, you are quick to forgive and you are committed to God. The Jews used to practice ‘Teshua’ as one of the ways of their life. Teshua is an act of asking for forgiveness and receiving forgiveness. When you put on the new man, you are committed to love ruled man. In Mark 1v15 the Bible talks about repentance. Repentance is not feeling sorry about yourselves but changing your mind. If you disrespected your spouse or anyone else, change your mind. Don’t talk too much. Some do what they like and, what they don’t like they develop slothfulness toward it. But you are not supposed to be that way. You should not follow your feelings but feelings must follow you. There is another type of repentance which is called transformation and it happens by exchange. You come into the presence of God and repentance of God comes into you. First of all, you come and then the presence of God (in the sense of revelation of the Word) comes to you. 2 Corinthians 3v18 says as we look, we are changed. One is we look and are changed and, another is you change your mind. The first one is the Spirit. The Bible tells in 2 Corinthians 5v14; “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again”. So, now your life is no longer yours but your life is Lord’s. Love rules man, generations but you must be quick to repent and forgive. (Message by Apostle Edmonds Owhorode, extracted by PR)
