In this special occasion of Christmas Day, Apostle Edmonds started with the understanding of love which he had, prior to the knowledge of the truth. He said he has seen love in the acts of people like expressions to one another etc. but he didn’t know that love is a person. All he knew about love was feelings, expressions, caring etc. until he read the Bible.
In 1 John 4v8, the scripture says; “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love”. That was an eye opener to him because he used to think God as an instructor who says what to do and what not to do. But after reading the above scripture, he was in that divine ecstasy and wanted to know the God who is love. Love is not relationship but in relationship, there is love. From the old testament to the new testament, love’s relationship with man is demonstrated out by how He wants to mend our relationship with Him, how He wants to correct our problems etc., but in the new testament it was expressed. In the Old Testament, expression is there but this level of expression that we are talking about mentioned in the New Testament, is the highest expression of God as love. John 1v14; “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth”. For you to understand the capacity and the depth of this verse, you have to read verse one that says; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. So, the Word was God and that same Word became flesh. This verse is the highest expression of love.
God has always spoken to His people, shown kindness to His people, delivered them from bondage, took them to the land of milk and honey, did signs and wonders and many other expressions but they didn’t see God in flesh. It is impossible for us to fathom that God will be wrapped in human vessel. But in the New Testament, the highest expression of love was God’s word becoming flesh. We saw Him, touched Him and heard Him. He lived and walked on this earth and showed us how to walk-in love, how to forgive, how to pray for enemies, how to overcome, how to deal with evil spirits, how to live above the very crowd of slave mentality of the human race etc. There is no kingdom where all the citizens are kings. All kingdoms have one king. But when He came, He made us kings.
Lot of people doesn’t like to give the stuff they have, even training. When they train, they will keep some essential facts which they do not share. They want the office to revolve around them. When the trainees are not able to solve, those trainers will do something that works which they did not taught in the training. So that praises goes to them, not Jesus. Jesus when He came, He made us kings like Him. He wasn’t interrogated to make us kings. He told us in John 14v12(a); ““Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do”.
In kingdom, the kings' throne is, what we all look at it. We don’t sit on it. But Jesus said in John 17v24(a); “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me;” Apostle Edmonds said he thought what they believed was religion but when he got into the book it was relationship with God. Jesus not only made us kings but shared everything with us. His throne, His name etc. was given to us; Love in the greatest expression. Jesus is love king.
God gave us His Son. The prophet was given a prophecy about the Saviour. Isaiah 9v6; “For unto a child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” In Matthew chapter one, the record was given to us clearly. A virgin gave birth and it was not normal because God did not depend on the principle, He gave for procreation to have His Son. The Bible teaches us that the worlds were created by His words. So, His words are powerful and that same Word was spoken to the virgin Mary who heard and believed it and kept it in her heart (meditation). And it went into her body and she carried the Son of the Highest.
In this message, Apostle Edmonds is trying to make you understand to become what you should become as a result of the gift of Christ because He already accomplished His purpose but His gift to us is His life. He laid His life for us. Do you believe in Him? Which king will call his citizens kings? Not one. Jesus not only called us kings but called us ‘family’; the same way Jesus became flesh, the same way His word becomes flesh in us. James 1v18 (AMP); “ It was of His own will that He gave us birth [as His children] by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits of His creatures [a prime example of what He created to be set apart to Himself—sanctified, made holy for His divine purposes]”. Some are struggling to think how God can have son without wife etc. God created the heavens and the earth; He doesn’t need a wife like He made for Adam. He made us to be His family. That same power in His word that gave life to Adam’s mortal body, life to animals, vegetation etc., that same word become flesh and we saw Him.
Has anybody told you that you don’t amount to anything or your performance is down or you don’t speak properly or you are not trendy or stylish? Hear the Word of God. You are the first class. As you are, He made you first class. God is wrapped up in His word. The truth is fully preached and is given to us. If you read it, you will never come to non-entity.
