In today's service, Apostle Edmonds spoke about the kind of fight which every Christian must fight and how they should fight that fight. Listen to the audio for the full message. FIGHT FOR LOVE – PART 1 The concept of the above subject is coined out from 1 John 4v8 that says God is love. The concept is not what we were taught but the concept is when we are fighting for love, we are fighting for God. You are fighting for God. You know exactly what God wants for your family, for your finances, body etc. and you fight for it. How to fight? When we follow what God’s word says, we get a new life. When we say fight for love, we are talking about fighting the good fight. In the book of 1 Timothy 6v12, the Bible tells us about good fight. The fight for love is a good fight. It is called faith fight. When we fight for love, we fight for God and His precepts. And how do we fight for love? The Bible says fight the good fight of faith. When you are fighting and you are not winning, it is not pleasant. Here we are talking about spiritual fight. It is a faith of fight. So, your faith fights for what God has given to you. When you are fighting and not getting the required result, you have to hold onto something. And the Bible says lay hold onto eternal life. We are called the soldier of Christ. And soldiers must fight. Soldiers don’t just make peace, they fight. You fight for your family, for your career, for your education etc. The bible says let’s fight good fight of faith. It is fighting for love because love wants us to be successful, protected, to live the best life and so on. Any situation comes and negotiates, we still stand for love. God is love.
I had always fought. If you were born with silver spoon in your mouth, you will not understand what it is to fight. But if you were born in situations that are not comfortable, you will understand what it is to fight. From the time I became a matured man, I was fighting. I could remember some of those days before I became a man, as a little boy, I would wake up with blood on my shirt for seven years. Where did it come from? Nobody knows. I didn’t cut myself. And my mother fought for me. She took me to church, to pastors and prayed for me. She taught me the word of God even though I did not want to hear. So, if you don’t know how to fight, even though grace has given you all you need, you may miss out in some of the benefits God has ordained for you. You must fight. I grew up in this fighting culture – struggling and fighting to be alive. When I grew up, I knew I had to pray even though it looked religious. I prayed to survive. Everyone is in the battle. If you are not fighting, the enemy is fighting for what he wants. You must fight. As long as you are a soldier, you have to fight. And in Christ Jesus, spiritually there is no retirement. You are soldiers for life. So, you keep fighting. You fight for your church, for the word of God, for the truth, for your family, for your loved ones etc. Don’t waste fighting your loved ones. Fight the right person. Fight for the right cause. (Message by Apostle Edmonds Owhorode, extracted from Sunday Service dt.28.04.19 by PR)
