We are born to praise Yahweh. We are created to praise Him. It is not something we do as a result of what we planned. Everything that has breath was created to praise God (Psalms 150). Animals have breath. If you do not praise God, then everything else that has breath will praise Him. Even the creatures praise God. Have you heard the sound of fire or water or birds etc., they praise the creator? Never come to the place where you cannot sing. It is not a commandment but it’s our life. We praise Him because we are created to praise. Every time you see Him, every time you come to His presence, don’t come empty handed but come with sacrifice of praise (Hebrews 13v15). Now, you must be free from general level. The general level of Christians think God wants us to praise Him. But understand when He breathed into Adam, Adam became a living soul by His breath. That breath we bring back to Him; that life we bring back to Him when we praise Him. When we bring it back to Him, it multiplies and it accomplishes its purpose. Never come to that place where you think that praise is just one aspect of your life. It is not one aspect for Christian life but it is “The Life”.
Praise is not what we plan to do but praise is our life. You name one thing you found out in the Lord that does not cause you to praise Him. Anything you name, it backs praise. Praise is speaking forth His wonderful works; acknowledging Him for who He is. People have technical reasons and approach to praise & worship. They think one is different from the other. Technically they might be different but both are in the same purpose - to adore Him, to worship Him, to bring forth who He is to light. 1 Peter 2v9; “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” Some people are very conscious of their clothes, body, hair etc. during the time of worship. Be more conscious of His presence. People want to worship in a way other accept. Who are you worshipping? Many people think they are not worshipping kind of Christian. The problem is you don’t have revelation of your life. You are called to show forth His praises. In Psalms 150, it did not say that we should show forth our praises in singing but praises of God emphatically come out by words. So, you might not be singing type but you must be praising type. Ephesians 5v18-20;” And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,”. In this verse, it talks about making melody in your hearts to the Lord. The scripture talks about hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs, Hymns are the songs that are orchestrated by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, line by line, given thought upon thought, expressing the goodness of God, the mercies of God, the efficacy of His grace and the entire manifestation of His majesty. Psalms is acknowledging what He has done, speaking forth what He is going to do and giving voice to the scriptures. Spiritual songs are those that are birthed without lyrics and without our understanding being fruitful; they originate from the Spirit, ministered by the Spirit; to the Father of Spirit. It is unseen. Our life is to show forth the praises to Him. Praises may not necessarily be songs but really speaking forth. When you see the schedule of Jesus Christ, you wouldn’t see singing in it but His life shows forth the praises of His majesty. In job, in relationships, in your disappointment etc., does your life show forth His praises? The way you handle your disappointments or your problems also show forth praises to God. At one level, praise can be a commandment to you but in another level, it is deep; it is life to you.
