The upcoming new year 2020 is going to be a year of possibilities for you! The Lord will do whatever you see and dream. He will bring that to pass. But be sure that whatever you are seeing is what He is leading you to do and not because what you can do. How do you know, what you are seeing is what He is leading you to do? Very simple! It starts from your daily work. In your daily work, in your home, in your relationships, in your spiritual life etc. what is required of you will determine what you are running after. It is popularly said “Time waits for no one.” And if you think you have lot of time, you lose it. But if you are conscious of time as the scripture says redeeming your time (Ephesians 5v16). The time you put into the things that do not edify people or strengthen people, measure it with the time that helps people, strengthens people etc. If you compare the time you put into these two things and your figure out that the time you put into yourself, your things is more than the time you put on building others, you are going to be frustrated very soon because nothing satisfies the human heart . The Lord created the entire world for us to live by one another. And so, if all you do is about yourself, you will be frustrated very soon, if you are not already frustrated. King Solomon tells us how the things of this world cannot fill the heart of a man. When we gather properties, securities for future etc. there is wisdom in that, but when that becomes our drive-in life, we become empty. When your pursuit is always about you, you will be frustrated; the source of your frustration when you lose sight on what God wants you to set your eyes on. In Hebrews 12v2, we see divine project, heavenly wisdom, a purpose for which Jesus went through shame. He was not full of Himself, in fact He came to serve; we see it in John chapter thirteen. People have done things before but only God creates principles of sustaining all things. Humans never think of sustaining all things. They think of their temporal need as in pleasures, interest etc., and do inventions based on it. After that when invention starts to be demanded by the nations of the world, we start to see the side-effects of selfishness. We never thought of trees when we invented papers, never thought of eco-system when we invented nylon bags etc. We are consumed by our own needs. That is why the scripture says man’s heart is desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17v9). James says our tongue is a fire (James 3v6). When you get out of selfishness, you are able to see clearly and cover yourself with destiny. Don’t be full of yourself. The laws of Moses have a law for strangers as well. Our God is God who gives food to all flesh, not only to his children. Psalm 136 talks about thanksgiving and his mercies that endure forever. Are you a son/daughter of God? If you are, don’t be full of yourself. Think about others too. Have you noticed people in public places, don’t think about others? No one cares for one another. These things have crept into Christian marriages so sadly. The man is full of himself; he thinks of only his convenience and never thinks of his spouse and vice versa. But the scripture says we should not be drunk of ourselves (Ephesians 5v18). When you are full of yourself, you lose the sight of Christ. And that is where the project is; that is where our purpose is enlightened. Where ever you are, be a son/daughter of God in spirit and truth. Give your heart to Yahweh and do not negotiate on it. Matthew chapter five says we are the light of the world and not the light of our family alone. Supporting your family is your responsibility; if you are not doing it, then it is not your identity. We are the light of the world. We cannot walk pass by evil. If you have a good job and good salary, think of others who do not have good jobs. Jesus taught us to care for others through the parable of a good Samaritan (Luke 10v30-37). We improve the lives of the people (Psalms 82v1-6). When Jesus said you are the light of the world, you placed it only in the realm of the Sprit. The Lord came to serve, who are you? If you never see yourself as a gift, you will always think you are a burden to others. Apostle Edmonds said he has always seen himself as a gift to his family, friends, society etc. It is not a boast of his talents but is the clear view of what the gospel of Jesus Christ gives to him. It is not what he possesses either by birth or by acquisition of skills & knowledge but it is about spiritual enlightenment of his eyes. If your thoughts are preoccupied by you thinking that you are a burden to someone, you have lost the sight of Christ because when Christ opens your eyes, you see the blessedness of Christ nature in you and makes you beautiful. How could you not think yourself as a blessing to others? Don’t be full of yourself. Think like Jesus. You are gods. You are the children of the Most High. Think of others; give meaning to life of others. So, are you the sons of God? If you are, then you are the light of the world! (Message by Apostle Edmonds, extracted by PR)
