In this service, Apostle Edmonds started with the first thought given by the Holy Spirit on the need for a believer of Christ to have thirst for God's Word and His presence. Then he continued with the last week's message on the importance of "The Unity Of Faith" to achieve a desired result and further detailed on how and why it is required for the believers of Christ to have One Voice, One Mind and One Spirit. Listen to the above audio for the full message and be blessed!
First thought by the Holy Spirit
Thirst is very important. In John 7v37 the Bible says; “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink” . If you are not thirsting for the presence of God upon your life, if you are not thirsting for the things of God or for the things, He wants to give to you, then you will be cold even without knowing it. No matter how good a drink is, if you are not thirsty, you may not need it. No matter where they went to buy the ingredients of the food or who prepares the food, if you are not hungry you might not eat. If you force yourself to eat when you are not hungry then you will play with the food and some other person who is hungry and thirsty tastes the food, he or she could feel how it is.
Thirst for the things of God. If you are not thirsty or if you do not know what thirst is, you pray and ask God because He will respond to only those who are thirsty. John 7v38 says; “From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water”. So, when you thirst you will be filled. When you are filled, people who are thirsty will be able to refresh in your presence. Never come to a place where your thirst is concealed spiritually or your thirst is misplaced. Many people don’t pray but sleep when all is well. When all is not well, they pray and even go into fasting. If you think your prayer is not the way it should be, and then let that be your prayer.
ONE VOICE, ONE MIND & ONE SPIRIT
Last week’s message was about the unity. We established the fact that unity is a force, a weapon, a key that you can use to accomplish things in your life. The world uses that key. Unity attracts. Let us understand through an example. In the river the way the water flow, the force is united. You put anything in it; it will be pulled towards that. It goes in that direction because it has force. If you stand different then something strange might happen. For e.g. If someone says they want to change a gang, By gang we refer to people who kill for money, sustain power from the politicians, control their domain, raise men who are already wayward etc. There is a current that is flowing in the gang. If you stand in it alone, you will go inside of it. If you want to change all the people in a gang and save them, then your force must be greater than theirs.
Some unity is beyond agreement. It is a spiritual force. For e.g. Gangs make covenant which means whatever belongs to one gang belongs to the other also and vice versa. No one will go against the other in the worldly gang but sad to say that Christians go against other Christians. Which gang do you belong to? In Christ, there is only one blood that unites us, one blood that we come together and look to and we say “This is the New Testament in the blood of Jesus by which we are saved and sanctified”. We drink it. It means now our names are Christ and we are Christians; we are a nation of Christ and we are a community of Christ. And you are ought not to break it. If you break it, your life is gone because every life is in the blood.
Nowadays, God’s people belittle themselves, keep their authorities down and are playing with toys of minor responsibilities. And so they are divided. Their voices are also divided. Their impact is also divided.
We should be of One voice, One mind and One Spirit. In Philippians 1v27, the Bible says about one Spirit and one mind. And it further says strive together and not against one another. So, follow the Spirit. The unity of faith is the spiritual conformity. We say the same things, think the same thoughts. The church that has one voice is a powerful church.
